Hello I´m having trouble trying to connect to my Haltech Elite 1000 ECU. I have connected multiple times before but the other day I went to connect the pc to the ecu and a message saying (ECU could not be found) appeared. I have tried multiple connectors cables, different computers, I tried uninstaling and reinstaling the ESP programm, I have inspected the connector on the ECU and everything looks perfect. The car starts and runs fine like always. When I turn the key ON, the status led stays off and the power led turns green for less than half a sec and then it turns white. I don´t know what else I can try. Any help would be really appreciated.

If firmware is new enough you could try connecting with NSP software and please let us know how that goes.

Documentation says White LED = normal operation so that and the engine running are good signs.

Hello Mike, thanks for your reply! I also tried with NSP but I had the same connection problem. I have inspected the ECU visually all around and I can’t see any signs of damage, I also checked the connectors and couldnt find anything wrong, it looks like new!

I have been searching the whole internet for this problem and I can’t understand how I am the first one to have it!

I’m stuck with this at this moment so any help would be really appreciated.

Try to call Haltech HQ. From what i've read they solve problems over the phone really quick but time zone difference could be a little issue. Also have you tried to downgrade the firmware and upgrade it again through ESP then to NSP ? Also head on overhere and ask for help there are couple of haltech stuff in the group as well. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1766797626872890

Restart PC, trying a different USB port, uninstall and reinstall software and drivers, turn off antivirus stuff are a few general steps in diagnosing this sort of issue in case you haven't done some of these yet.

Thanks for the reply Emir, I already tried contacting Haltech via e-mail and they said to ship the ecu to them but that’s not an option for me at the moment. I will try what you are saying about downgrading the firmware. I also tryied on that facebook group but no luck.

I also tried what Mike says about restating the PC and trying different ports but no luck aswell.

I might end up opening the ecu myself to inspect if there is any visible damage but I doubt it as this happened from one day to another without even touching the car.

If Haltech said to send the ECU back, it seems they think it may need repaired.

Unless you're confident you will be able to repair the circuitry yourself, it seems sending it to Haltech for repair makes sense.

If you open the ECU up, you may have to pay for repairs vs. a potentially free repair under warranty.
